RESEARCH INTERESTS
I have broad interest in Health Education, particularly in health behavior decisions and attitude measurement.  Specifically I am interested in the measurement of attitudes as a predictor of behavior.  I have developed worksite safety climate and health climate instruments in English and translated them into Spanish.

CURRENT RESEARCH
Currently I have developed a worksite health climate instrument that is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior constructs.

TEACHING
FNH 8613 Design and Administration of Health Promotion Programs
Principles of health promotion planning models applicable to school, community, and work site programs.  Investigation of existing programs and current literature.

FNH 8653 Implementation and Evaluation of Health Promotion Programs

Development and application of evaluation protocols for health promotion programs.  Process, impact and outcome measures are examined.

Health Education for Diverse Populations
This course is designed to help students identify and develop programs to overcome health disparities that exist in diverse populations.

Principles of Epidemiology and Health Science Research
This course is designed to assist students to develop the skills to interpret epidemiological research. Emphasis will be placed on interpretation of basic measures of death and disease along with evaluation of various study designs commonly used in the field of epidemiology.

FNH  3163  Basic Principles of Health Promotion
The course examines the role of Health Promotion in the prevention and control of public health issues and includes an orientation to the profession and considerations of current trends, problems, and issues in health promotion.
